All at Ballymena RFC were deeply saddened to hear of the passing on Sunday, after a lengthy illness, of esteemed club member David Patton.

David played for the First XV in the 1950’s before becoming heavily involved in the administration of the club, holding the post of Club Chairman
in the 1968-69 season. He expertly managed the major club tour to Western Canada in 1980.

He was also a long-term Trustee and Honorary Vice-President, while his company was the major Sponsor of the club for several years.

David was a great servant and life-long stalwart of the club he dearly loved, and he will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

The Officers and Members of Ballymena RFC extend their heart-felt condolences to his wife Shirley, daughters Jill and Claire, son Neil and the entire family circle.
