Ballymena RFC successfully hosted their Festival of Mini Rugby on Saturday 8th April 2017.

It has grown into the largest and best supported mini rugby festival on the island, with some 21 clubs represented and over 2000 players and coaches in attendance and double number of spectators watching on across the three sessions. The standard of rugby was outstanding and bodes well for future of the game in Ireland.

The sun shone all day and everyone had a great day, with all the children enjoying both the rugby and fun activities laid on.

Mid and East Antrim Councillor and Mayor Audrey Wells MBE, Ulster Rugby players Callum Patterson and Matty Rea and Club Director Davy McAleese were on hand to give out trophies to best overall team from each age group.

Trevor (Tabsy), Eamon and his mini rugby coaching team want to say a big thank to all the volunteer’s and sponsors for making the festival the premier event in the Irish Mini Rugby calendar that it has become.

Looking forward to next year’s festival of mini rugby #2018.
