On a windy nightat Eaton Park, the 1st XV eked out a hard fought 14 points to 13 victory after taking a nine point to nil  lead into the halftime break with Ritchie McMaster kicking 3 penalty goals. Playing into a strong gale in the second half , they spent most of the time in their own twenty two metre area barring a breakout which led to an Adam McBurney try to bring the score to 14 points to 6. Ciaran Gaffney scored the Galweigans try which was converted by Morgan Codyre, adding to his two earlier penalty kicks, thus setting up a nervy last quarter during which Bryan Young was sinbinned for an illegal tackle. Butwith MOTM Clive Ross leading the defensive line, the team held on for the win.
